Phillip Trevilion Blacksmith Shop

Phillip A. Trevilion was born in 1873, in Texas, and died in 1950. "Mr. Phillip", as he was called, lived most of his life in Miller Grove, Texas. His wife, Sarah (Kitty), was born in 1877 and died in 1918.

Mr. Trevilion was of average build, had a mustache, wore bib overalls, and worked in the blacksmith shop by himself. He was known to be a good forge welder and worked mostly on plow and farm tools. He also shoed horses. Although Mr. Trevilion worked his shop alone, he let Ralph Pippin who was an auto-mechanic work out of the back section of the shop.

The blacksmith shop was originally built in 1910 and moved to the museum grounds from Miller Grove in 1978. A brick forge was built in 2002 during shop renovation. The Trip hammer, line shaft, Blower, and hit'n miss engine belonged to Phillip Trevilion.
